AT EVERYDAY CHURCH, AN eGROUP IS A “LITTLE CHURCH.”

This does not mean little impact, because eGroups can often disciple people more than large gatherings. In this sense, the word “little” simply refers to size. Everything that a church does, an eGroup does on a smaller scale. Every eGroup reflects the core values and participates in the core mission of the church, but with it’s own unique personality. The DNA is the same; personality is different. Just like our church has a master strategy, every eGroup has the same strategy – to make disciples who make disciples.

WE WANT eGROUPS TO HELP MEMBERS KNOW THE GOSPEL

Bible Study, discussion, and attention to spiritual discussions are helpful in teaching the Gospel. An eGroup needs to have times where the focus is on applying the Word that is being taught in our Gatherings. Ultimately, this is not just a fellowship eGroup or support eGroup. An eGroup is truly trying to live out the truth found in Scripture together. The goal is to unpack what we have been talking about in our Gatherings and help people apply truth to their everyday practical living.

eGROUPS SHOULD HELP OTHERS TO KNOW THE GOSPEL

Inviting, mission, serving, sharing the Gospel are some of the core functions of every eGroup. eGroups are outward focused, just like our church is outward focused. eGroup members should live intentionally and incarnationally. We desire our eGroups to give away as much time as they spend together. So each eGroup needs to have one week where the focus and challenge is to”Love Your Neighbor.” They can do this on their own but need to be intentional about loving their neighbor in a tangible way without any strings attached. This might be having guests over for dinner, setting up a play date for the kids, or reaching out to provide help in some way. The idea is to build a relationship with someone that eventually leads into spiritual conversations. We also ask our eGroups to spend one meeting time to”Bless the City.” The eGroup can find a time that is convenient for them and get together to do something positive for the city in which we live. We prefer our eGroups to partner with existing non-profits due to their expertise in their field.

eGROUPS HELP PEOPLE LIVE IN THE GOSPEL

Care, prayer, friendship, fellowship are critical components of the Christian life. Christianity is a personal faith, but it is not a private faith. The Bible is clear: we need each other. A life lived to the fullest is a life lived in community. eGroups bring accountability, encouragement, friendship, and intimacy that is truly life-changing.
